Grace Road has made significant investments through their farming operations in Fiji, producing quality fruits and vegetables, says the Minister for Agriculture and Waterways, Vatimi Rayalu.
After his recent tour of the group’s farm in Sabeto, Nadi, Mr Rayalu said the company had proven they’re able to use technology to increase yield through their indoor greenhouse systems that produce lettuce, tomatoes and other vegetables.
He said the ministry would like to see innovative methods of farming used by the company in farms across Fiji.
“We will be partnering closely with Grace Road to have these technologies replicated for the benefit of farmers,” he said.
Grade Road retail operations manager Grace Park said they would continue to expand crop production to meet the demands of various sectors of the economy, including the tourism industry.
“Fiji must have its own adequate food production that can feed its people without relying on imported food,” said Ms Park.
Grace Road started its agriculture business in Navua in 2014 and now boasts 14 farms across Fiji.
