THE pressure will be on our Fiji Airways men’s sevens team this weekend as they battle to secure back-to-back titles in opening leg of the HSBS SVNS series in Dubai this weekend.

Head Coach Osea Kolinisau knows the team is in a very tough pool, he intends to take one game at a time this weekend.

“I told the boys we can’t look past any team and let take one game at a time lets focus on one game and make sure we leave no stones unturned and we bring our A game in every game,” he said.

With the new games format where only the top teams from each pool advance to the semi-finals.

Kolinisau says the team will need to perfect every aspect of their game moving forward if they are to progress from the pool stages.

“You got to be good in all aspects, we got to be good in the kick-offs, we got to be good on attack, we got to be good on defence and on your set pieces and it’s something we really working hard.” He explained.

He also highlighted the need to score points at every opportunity and to maintain possession and connect well as a team.

Especially against top teams like South Africa, France and Argentina who they are pooled with.

“We defend and connect as a team, we fight for each other when we are defending and if we take care of all the things we’ve been practicing then everything will fall into place,” Kolinisau said.

Fiji will take on Argentina in their opening match at 9.10 pm on Saturday before facing South Africa at 12.16am on Sunday.

They will wrap up their pool against France at 4.12am on Sunday.
