Kenya coach Innocent Simiyu welcomes Brian Tanga and Dennis Ombachi back into a 13-man squad for the seventh round of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series in Hong Kong next weekend.
Tanga returns for the first time since the HSBC Sydney Sevens, while it will be Ombachi’s first appearance of the 2016-17 series.
Derrick Mayar is the only uncapped player in the squad, with the three newcomers replacing Billy Odhiambo (hamstring), Oscar Ayodi (knee) and Leonard Mugaisi, who has been rested for this Asian tour.
“Derrick Mayar has excelled well in training and we have given him a maiden call up while Ombachi, who returns to the squad for his first appearance of the year, gives us a different dynamic to the team, he is a strong running back,” Simiyu explained.
