The 2025 Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby Union Vodafone Super Deans under-18 final is set to be a memorable one as Nasinu Secondary School and Ratu Kadavulevu School vie for the coveted title.
Nasinu Secondary, playing in the final for the second consecutive year, have their eyes firmly set on the prize as they get another chance to fight for a title they are yet to win.
History favours RKS, a school which has won the Deans trophy 22 times and sharing the title on five occasions.
This is also the same RKS team that remained undefeated since 2022 when they won the U15 title in Lautoka.
They also lifted the U16 trophy in 2023 and backed it up last year when they took out the U17 title.
With that factor in mind, Nasinu Secondary School principal, Naisa Cama praised their opponent while noting that his school has a lot to gain from this final.
“I have always stated that RKS is the dream team, and they are the team to beat. They have never lost, and they are just the champion side.
“We’ve got nothing to lose. It’s a big bonus that we are in the grand-final,” he said.
The last time these two schools met in the final was in 1988 when RKS won 19-17.
Nasinu now has a chance to rewrite history.
“It’s the second time in the last two years that we are in the Deans final. The onus is on the boys now to give their best.”
Cama is calling on all Nasinu Secondary School old scholars and supporters to show up in numbers to cheer on their U18 gladiators.
He is optimistic that the side will rise to the occasion tomorrow when they meet RKS in the grand-final scheduled for 5.30pm at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
