Oceania Football Confederation player development officer Phillip Pickering-Parker praised Fiji Football’s initiative with the inaugural McDonald’s All Star Tournament in Ba.

Parker highlighted the uniqueness of the program, emphasising its distinctiveness compared to New Zealand.

“This is an exceptionally unique program developed in Fiji by Fijians for Fijians as Fijians. It is really a unique approach. New Zealand have a similar thing but nothing quite like this,” Parker said.

“Fiji is the first in the region to have a concept like this.”

A total of 140 junior elite football players and 40 talented girls from talent development league programs are currently engaged in the two-program.
