STUDENTS of Rarawai FSC Primary School were treated to a special visit yesterday as the 2026 Oceania Rugby Get Into Rugby (GIR) Legacy Program brought along ambassadors and former national 7s captain Jerry Tuwai and former Fijiana captain Rusila Nagasau.
It was a memorable occasion for the students, many of whom were seeing their national heroes for the first time.
The duo, accompanied by Oceania Rugby officials, took time to engage with the children and share messages aimed at guiding them both in school and in life.
Nagasau reminded students that discipline and respect were key to success.
“Discipline is the key to success, you need to have discipline,” she said.
She also stressed the importance of respect and hard work.
“You need to respect yourselves first, then you can respect others. You have a bright future ahead of you, so you need to work hard to achieve your dreams.”
Tuwai echoed similar sentiments, encouraging students to value the support they give to national athletes and to remain obedient.
“It’s good to be here and see you children.
“When we play, we always think of you children. When we lose or win, you always support us, so when we win a gold medal, we win for you children,” Tuwai said.
He also urged the students to listen to their teachers and parents.
“I want to remind you children to be obedient, always listen to your teachers and parents.”
The visit forms part of the Oceania Rugby GIR Legacy Program, which aims to inspire young students through rugby values and positive role models.
