Ryan Fox lived up to his big golf reputation with a sizzling 8-under par round on the second day of the NZPGA Championship in Te Puke on Friday.
Fox started the day three shots behind leader Josh Geary after an opening round of 68 on Thursday, but after parring the first, the birdies started to come. In a bogey-free round he holed eight birdies.
It was a brilliant round and at 12-under gave him a one-shot lead over Aucklander Tae Koh and Geary at the halfway stage of the tournament at the Te Puke Golf Club.
