VODAFONE Fiji Bati coach Brandon Costin has confirmed that two NRL scouts were in the country specifically hunting for young secondary school players.

Costin said the NRL duo were in the country specifically to watch the grand final.

Auckland Warriors recruitment manager Peter O’Sullivan has been in the country since last week’s FSSRL national semi finals.

Brisbane Broncos recruitment manager Simon Scanlan arrives in Nadi tomorrow.

“(For) NRL clubs, when they look into recruiting players, they are looking for 16, 17 and 18-year-old athletes,” Costin said.

He added it was a big opportunity for those young players to secure themselves a professional contract and have a fulfilling life in rugby league.
