MEMBERS of the public turned up in numbers at the Labasa Civic Centre today for the interfaith memorial service held for victims and the 50 that died at the Christchurch massacre in New Zealand last week.

People of different race and background attended the service, including the families of those that were wounded in the fateful shooting which has been labeled as an act of terror.

Paying his respect at the service, Commissioner Northern Jovesa Vocea said the events in Christchurch was a close call for Fijians adding that we needed to speak out against such acts.

Mr Vocea told those present at the service that all evil needed to triumph was for good man to say nothing.

He encouraged people to speak out against acts of terror.
