STATE lawyers are expected to file a nolle prosequi for former Fiji Airways driver Neumi Donumainasava this afternoon.

This after prosecutors accepted that Mr Donumainasava was an informant in the police operations that led to the discovery of more than 5 kilograms of methamphetamine in Nadi last year.

He was charged alongside Nigerian national Chukwemeka Phabian and two Narcotics Bureau police officers Apenisa Matadigo and Uraia Bolalailai.

This is the second nolle prosequi application filed by the DPP during the trial that began on Monday at the Lautoka High Court.

DPP deputy director John Rabuku confirmed the application will be filed before 4.30pm.

Still facing charges of illegal importation of illicit drugs is Mr Phabian and suspended officers Apenisa Matadigo and Uraia Bolalailai.

The trial continues tomorrow.
