Noble Banner Blue

OUR current noble banner blue means so much to us.

Blue is the colour of the sky and sea. It is often associated with depth and stability.

It is conservative and predictable, a safe and non-threatening colour, and the most universally liked colour of all, probably because it is safe and non-threatening.

At the same time, blue is persistent and determined to succeed in whichever endeavours it pursues.

It is a colour that lives in the past, relating everything in the present and the future to experiences in the past.

I’m one of the majority of Fijians still embracing our current flag design in its totality.

We love it — we really feel proud of it.

And it still contains much of Fiji’s history and it contains much of what Fiji has gone through in the past 150 years or so.

I see it as one that flies above all the ethnic differences in Fiji.

After last week’s rugby 7s victory in Rio, the Fiji flag flies higher than ever before.

Thank you Mr PM for retaining our current noble banner blue.
