There is no room for porn stars in Fiji, says Home Affairs Minister Pio Tikoduadua.
While confirming the deportation of British porn star Tia Emma Billinger, or ‘Bonnie Blue’, along with a cameraman Australian Annie Knight from Double Tree by Hilton in Nadi yesterday, Mr Tikoduadua said they would not tolerate people who enter the country to produce porn.
In social media posts, “Bonnie’ said she was in Fiji with Australian schoolies to make porn videos for her OnlyFans site where she is paid to make adult film content.
Mr Tikoduadua said government would not allow that to happen.
“Their intentions are illegal under the law which is why we are taking these actions,” he said.
“There is the concern of what they want to do and these illegal actions are something we do not condone and not good for our people.
“They have already openly expressed their intentions. We don’t want them doing that here so there is no place for them here in Fiji.”
He said with what Bonnie has posted on social media, the trio have breached Section 377 of Crimes Act on trafficking in obscene publications.
“Consequent to that under Section 13(ii)(g) of the Immigration Act we are going to use that given these public notices of their intentions has grounds to which we are going repatriate these individuals.”
He said vetting porn stars was a challenge as they went under different names but the Immigration Department would crack down on those found breaching the country’s laws.
“These people normally go by nicknames.
“She’s called Bonnie Blue and it is difficult to find out but if we are made aware like we do profiling with every other persons that we suspect to be indulging in certain illegal things it is easier for us.
“We already have records of those through Interpol and AFP and all of those other agencies.
“This is an additional lane that we will keep. If we know of other characters we will definitely add on to the data base that we have.”
According to international reports, this is not the first time Blue has targeted young school-leavers.
Last year she created similar content with ‘spring breakers’ in the United States and with ‘freshies’ in the United Kingdom.
Fiji has been a long-time destination for Australian schoolies who choose island resorts, mainly in the Mamanucas, to celebrate the end of their high school education.
