Leader of the Opposition has called on Fijians to embrace hope, unity and compassion as the country celebrates Christmas.
In his festive message, the Opposition Leader said the birth of Jesus Christ was a reminder of enduring values that should guide daily life.
“As we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, we are reminded that His coming into the world marked the beginning of hope, unity, and love for all humankind,” he said.
He urged Fijians to share with neighbours, family and loved ones, reflecting the true spirit of Christmas through kindness and generosity.
“As Fijians, this season invites us to embrace the true meaning of Christmas by sharing with one another and caring for our neighbours, our families, and our loved ones.”
The Opposition Leader highlighted the importance of family and community gatherings.
“Christmas is also a time for families and friends to come together, to sit, share, and rejoice in the uniquely Fijian spirit of love, laughter, and togetherness.”
He also reminded the nation to support those who are less fortunate.
“At the same time, we must remember those in our society who are less fortunate. The love of Christ calls on us to reach out to the vulnerable, the struggling, and the forgotten, ensuring that no one is left behind during this season of joy.”
He concluded by wishing all Fijians a blessed festive season.
“On behalf of the Opposition, I wish all Fijians a blessed Christmas filled with peace, love, and renewed hope. May the light of Christ guide our nation as we look forward to the year ahead.”
