IHG Hotels & Resorts properties in Fiji joined efforts to contribute towards Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October to raise awareness and funds for the Fiji Cancer Society program.

Throughout the month, InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa, Grand Pacific Hotel and Holiday Inn Suva are participating in fundraising efforts and will give part of the sale on selected items to benefit cancer awareness causes with the Fiji Cancer Society.

In addition, IHG offered all female employees in Fiji Pap tests with the  Health and Medical Services Ministry at each hotel. InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa has also organised an outreach at Sanasana Village in Natadola.

Area general manager of the South Pacific at IHG Lachlan Walker said: “It’s with great honour and pride that all three IHG properties in Fiji support those impacted by breast cancer. We are thrilled to work with the Fiji Cancer Society to create awareness and raise funds for such an important cause.

“At IHG Hotels & Resorts, our purpose is to deliver true hospitality for good. To achieve this, we work together to care for our people and communities. This is championed through supporting all colleagues to prioritise their well-being and the well-being of others,” Mr Walker added.

Fiji Cancer Society chief executive officer Belinda Chan said the Fiji Cancer Society assisted cancer patients from clinically diagnosed, and they saw them throughout the journey.

“We are grateful for organisations like the InterContinental Hotel Group, who come in solidarity to support us to scale our efforts and ensure that no one fights cancer alone.”

In addition, the Grand Pacific Hotel Suva turned Pink on Saturday, October 15, 2022.

The iconic front exterior displayed pink lights to raise awareness and signal support to those affected by breast cancer and show that no one fights alone.

Guests and community members who want to show their support and participate in PINKTOBER can visit the properties and purchase selected cocktails, cakes and spa packages or participate in fundraising activities benefiting the Fiji Cancer Society from October 1 to October 31.
