COMPOL Rusiate Tudravu has assured that no police officers will face action based solely on unverified Viber messages, emphasising transparency and fairness in ongoing investigations.

He made the comments at a press briefing this morning.

“I’ve said it already—if there’s a link, you’re out. If there’s a link of allegation, we investigate. There’s nothing to hide. My intent coming into this office is to provide growth for this organization, which has suffered much,” he said.

He stressed that minor or unverified messages will not be the basis for immediate disciplinary action.

“I will not just, from a small message coming up from Viber, send people out… I am here to take out that fear from the members of the police force. I will act if they have evidence,” Tudravu added.

The COMPOL’s comments come as investigations continue into allegations implicating senior officers, with an emphasis on ensuring proper verification before any action is taken.
