National Federation Party leader Professor Biman Prasad says Christmas is a time for families and communities across Fiji to come together, reflect, and recommit to values that strengthen the nation.

“Christmas is a time when families and communities across Fiji come together to rest, reflect on shared values of care, fairness and responsibility to one another,” he said.

He noted that for Christians, the celebration of Christ’s birth serves as a reminder of humility, compassion and service — values he said are woven into Fiji’s social fabric.

“For Christians, the birth of Christ marks Christmas, reminding us of the importance of humility, compassion and service,” Professor Prasad said.

“These values align closely with the National Federation Party’s long-standing commitment to inclusion, social justice and equal opportunity.”

He said the festive season also provided an opportunity for the party to reaffirm its priorities.

“For the NFP, this season provides an opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to unity, inclusion and practical leadership,” he said, adding that the party would continue pursuing policies that “bring people together, strengthen trust in institutions, and improve the everyday lives of ordinary Fijians”.

Looking ahead to the new year, Professor Prasad said the NFP would continue to engage with communities and stakeholders nationwide.

“Our focus remains on building a stable, inclusive and confident Fiji — where opportunity is shared and where progress is guided by cooperation, respect and accountability,” he said.
