Education Minister Rosy Akbar today opened a newly-refurbished building for students and teachers of Vunidawa Sanatan Primary School in Naitasiri.
The school was adopted by the Indian government through the Government’s Adopt a School Program after Severe Tropical Cyclone Winston in 2016.
Ms Akbar in her address reiterated the importance of education and said it was imperative for parents to look after the education interest of their children.
“As parents and guardians, we must ensure we teach our children the importance of hard work and good ethical behaviour,” Ms Akbar said.
“As they say, good habits start at home.”
The cost of the new double-storey school building is $1.2million.
