The Public Service Commission (PSC) has announced the appointment of Mr. Peni Sikivou as the new Permanent Secretary for National Planning, Development and Statistics.
In a statement, PSC Chairman Luke Rokovada said the appointment was made with the agreement of the Prime Minister.
“Mr. Sikivou brings with him over 30 years of experience working in government and across the Pacific region in areas of economic and strategic planning, project planning, financial management, and monitoring and evaluation,” Mr. Rokovada said.
He added that Mr. Sikivou’s extensive background in both the public and private sectors, as well as his regional experience, will be an asset to the Ministry.
“Mr. Sikivou has also served with the Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG) Secretariat in Port Vila, Vanuatu, where he contributed to regional development initiatives,” Mr. Rokovada said.
Mr. Sikivou holds a Master of Science degree in macroeconomic policy and planning for developing countries from the University of Bradford in the United Kingdom. He is currently pursuing doctoral studies.
Mr. Rokovada said the Commission looks forward to Mr. Sikivou’s leadership in advancing Fiji’s national development priorities through evidence-based planning and statistical innovation.
