Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Professor Biman Prasad officiated at the opening of the new Nakasi Police Station in Nausori yesterday.

The new facility will serve more than 45,000 people living and working in the Nakasi, Wainibuku, Davuilevu and Koronivia areas.

The station also serves as a major hub for the Eastern Division Headquarters in looking after five policing stations and 13 community posts, and covering the four provinces of Tailevu, Rewa, Naitasiri and Lomaiviti.
