New online store

A NEW medium designed to showcase products of small and medium enterprises to local and international communities is now up and running.

The newly-launched Nadi-based online store — myFijiStore.com — targets the growing international e-commerce market and provides consumers with an opportunity to purchase Fijian made products.

The online marketplace allows people to purchase more than 120 items, ranging from bespoke jewellery, virgin coconut oil, Fiji made chocolate, handmade soaps and artwork.

According to company director Tasneem Hussein, they had 10 suppliers on board and were looking to add a few more in the coming months.

“We’ve noticed a great opportunity to get Fijian products out there to the rest of the world, our intention is to not only grow our business but collectively grow together with all of our suppliers,” she said.

“The creativity and talent they each possess is amazing — we are proud to be selling such stunning products online.”

More than six months were spent developing the website and users would be able to view the site in several languages and pay for products purchased in more than 20 currencies.

“Within Fiji, we have ‘bank deposit’ coming soon so you don’t need a credit card to place your order, you will be able to pay via bank deposit or online transfer.

“We’re excited to offer this especially for our Fijian customers. But it’s the products that really do the talking, our mission is to put Fiji and Fiji-made products on the world map.

“We are a proud supporter of Fijian businesses and you will only ever find 100 per cent Fiji made products on myFijiStore.com.”

The company plans to assist in diversifying Fiji’s export offerings, with key focus being placed on the Chinese market.
