Update: 2:25PM THE country’s new national minimum wage of $2.32 comes into effect from today.
The
Employment Ministry will hold a press conference later today to announce
further details on the new minimum wage rate.
Government
has also increased the minimum wage rates for 10 Sectoral Wages
Regulations.
This was gazetted by the Minister for Employment,
Productivity and Industrial Relations Jioji Konrote under Section 264 of the
Employment Relations Promulgation (2007).
Workers covered under the 10 sectors will see an
increase of 2 to 5 per cent in their minimum wage rates effective from today.
