The British government has appointed Kanbar Hossein-Bor as its new British High Commissioner to the Republic of Fiji.
He was replace Dr Brian Jones who will be transferring to another Diplomatic Service appointment.
Mr Hossein-Bor will take up his appointment during July 2025.
Based in Suva, he will be the non-resident British High Commissioner to the Republic of Kiribati and His Majesty’s non-resident Ambassador to the Federated States of Micronesia and the Republic of the Marshall Islands.
In his last job, Mr Hossein-Bor was the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office Deputy Director Democratic Governance and Media Freedom Co-ordinator.
He has served in diplomatic positions in Dhaka, Monrovia, Libya, Geneva and Baghdad.
Mr Hossein-Bor is a lawyer by profession and entered the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office as its Legal Directorate.
