The Fiji men’s invitational netball team departed last night for Melbourne, Australia, where they will compete in the 2025 Australian Men’s and Mixed Netball Association (AMMNA) Championship.
This tournament represents a key step in the team’s preparations for the Fiji Men’s International Series scheduled for August in Suva.
During the AMMNA Championship, the team will play 10 matches in the reserve grade division.
The invitation to the event follows the team’s impressive performance in Singapore last December, where they emerged as tournament champions.
Head coach Jioweli Vakamoce views the tournament as an essential opportunity to refine the team’s strategies and test new player combinations.
“Playing 10 games in a competitive environment gives our players the chance to lift their performance and adapt under pressure.”
The AMMNA Championship attracts some of the best male and mixed netball talent from Australia, and Fiji’s participation highlights the growing strength and depth of men’s netball in the Pacific.
Netball Fiji extends its heartfelt thanks to the supporters, families, districts, clubs and partners who continue to back the development of men’s netball in Fiji.
