FORMER Flying Fijian Isoa Neivua has set his sight on the Fiji Bati jersey after his impressive performance in the FNRL weekly competition this season.
The Navosa flyer was in top form scoring the only try for his Sigatoka Safari Navosa team against Outrigger on the Lagoon Nadroga side at Vatureba Park over the weekend.
FNRL development officer Suliasi Cakautabu said Neivua had been selected from the Navosa side to attend the Fiji Residence trials later in the year
He said the former Nadroga winger was back at his usual best and looked set to stamp his dominance in the code.
“Neivua has declared his interest to represent the country in rugby league and has been working hard to fulfil his goal,” said Cakautabu.
“He was a handful for the Nadroga players last weekend.
“Neivua has tasted the experience of playing top level competition while with the Flying Fijians and he has a lot to offer to rugby league.”
The 35-year-old flyer was part of the Ilivasi Tabua-coached Flying Fijians side that reached the Rugby World Cup semi-final in 2007.
He was chosen as one of the three wingers for the 2007 Rugby World Cup ahead of star winger Rupeni Caucau.
The former Nadroga rep has won 8 caps for the Flying Fijians.
