AN extended squad camp for the Fiji Pearls for this Saturday was announced by Netball Fiji yesterday, with 58 netters expected to report into camp.
In the one-day camp, athletes and coaching staff from the Fiji Pearls and the national men’s netball team will come together to focus on conditioning and skills enhancement to prepare themselves for what is expected to be a busy year for Netball Fiji.
The Pearls will then prepare for a series of engagements which include one local and three overseas tournaments already locked in from July to October this year.
It is part of a concerted effort to compete at high levels of competition and to improve its world ranking.
Fiji’s current ranking has made it miss out on qualification to this year’s Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland since it failed to finish in the top 12 to qualify.
In a statement, the parent body highlighted the meeting was an opportunity to reflect on how they wanted to move in the new year.
“Bringing our national teams together ahead of key fixtures in 2026 reflects our how we want to approach performance, collaboration, and excellence in our high-performance space,” Netball Fiji said.
“We are confident this camp will set the tone for a successful year for both teams.”
The one-day camp for the Pearls will be held at the Vodafone Arena in Suva, starting at 9am with players advised to be there by 8am.
