“NDMO does not keep any food.”
Minister for Rural and Maritime Development and Disaster Management Inia Seruiratu clarified this in Parliament this afternoon.
Mr Seruiratu said whatever the National Disaster Management Office (NDMO) provided in the aftermath of disasters were based on the damage assessments conducted by teams on the ground.
“NDMO is governed by the Act, the Plan and the Government’s procurement procedures in the Finance Instructions. Right now as we speak, NDMO is distributing in Nalele, Namalomalo and in Nadi,” he said.
