The organisers of the 35th Fiji Bitter Nawaka 7s Festival will do a post mortem next week to ascertain why a number of teams failed to turn up for the group stage games.

There were numerous defaults recorded during the opening two days of the tournament.

Nawaka Rugby Club president Eparama Sailo said there weren’t any major incidents at the event.

Sailo said there were a few hiccups with the ground condition for netball which was sorted.

“The rugby competition went well but we were a bit concern with the defaults,” he said.

“Some teams did not show up on both days.

“They haven’t given any reason for not showing up.

“We will wait for the tournament to finish then call a meeting to ascertain as to why they did not turn up.”

Sailo said they were not at a loss because the registrations had been paid by the teams.
