River Tubing Fiji / Classic Travel Tours & Rentals Navua had to play the waiting game yesterday to confirm their place in the semi-finals of the 2025 Extra Battle of the Giants.

This was after the side gave away a 1-nil lead due to a last-minute foul that saw Stratum Construction Nadi complicate their situation a bit more.

Their fate rested on the Ravindra’s Transport Suva- Lincoln Rewa match result as a win to the Delta Tigers would take Navua through as the runner-up from Group B.

Fate was on the southerners’ side as Rewa with another top display of football defeated Suva 2-0 in their last pool match, giving Navua just what they needed.

Navua coach Babs Khan will now have to form a game winning strategy to get past the semis.

“The players when they are without the ball, their decision making, which is called reaction time, so they need to react fast on that a bit, we need to go back and work on that.

“We are happy for the team, we will go back and talk to the coaching team, watch our game footage, review it and we must draw up training plans for it. Hopefully we don’t have any injuries in the team, if there are, we will get our medical staff to attend to it,” Khan said.

Rewa is headed into the semis as the top seeded team from Group B.

Head coach and player Tevita Waranivalu said they did exactly what they planned to do.

“Hats off to the boys, they’ve done everything we planned. We came here to take each game at a time. The first one was done, then the second one and today (yesterday)was our third pool game. We managed to get nine points out of these games”
