Despite a strong performance against a well-organised Suva FC the Navua FC failed to keep the momentum in the second half which cost them the game in round 14 of the Digicel Premier League.

Navua FC coach Saiyad Ali said despite his side putting on a strong performance in the first half, they fell short in the second half and could not match their opponent’s momentum.

Ali added the Suva side capitalised on the opportunities they got and unfortunately, his side failed to do that.

He mentioned his boys played a good game and created a lot of opportunities however, they couldn’t maximise those opportunities which cost them the game.

“We did play very well but then again it doesn’t matter how well you play, if you don’t score, you don’t win,” he said.

The Navua FC coach said the team would regroup and shift their focus to their next DPL match against Tailevu.

He added he was currently focused on the remaining round of the DPL and would shift their focus to the Battle of Giants afterwards.

The Navua side sit on 7th position with 14 points from 14 games.
