National carrier, Fiji Airways has announced a significant partnership with JetBlue, based in the United States, as its latest interline partner.
This collaboration enables travelers to seamlessly purchase combined tickets for flights on both airlines, facilitating smooth connections between Fiji Airways and JetBlue.
Passengers can benefit from through-check services from their initial departure point to the final destination.
Company Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Andre Viljoen, expressed enthusiasm for the limitless potential of this partnership.
“Americans who have been yearning for a holiday in Fiji will now find it much easier to connect onto our flights out of Los Angeles and San Francisco,” Mr Viljoen said.
“Research tells us that many Americans have a misconception that Fiji is too far away, and difficult to get to,” he said.
“With this partnership, Fiji Airways has made it even more convenient to reach our Fijian paradise.
“We have been exploring innovative means to grow our footprint in the United States, and I am delighted that JetBlue has come onboard as an interline partner.”
The alliance not only makes it easier for Americans desiring a Fijian holiday to connect through flights from Los Angeles and San Francisco but also dispels the misconception that Fiji is difficult to reach.
This move aligns with Fiji Airways’ growth strategy, with a particular focus on expanding its footprint in the United States.
JetBlue’s extensive network, covering 100 domestic and international destinations, including key locations like Los Angeles, New York, Boston, and Orlando, opens up opportunities for growth in the US market.
The partnership not only benefits Americans wishing to explore Fiji but also offers Fijians and other Pacific Islanders convenient access to various destinations in the United States and around the world using a single ticket.
Fiji Airways currently operates daily flights between Nadi and Los Angeles and up to five times a week to San Francisco.
