THE 11th Annual Fiji Girls Surf Clinic kicked off in Nadi over the weekend, bringing together women and girls not just for surfing, but to celebrate connection, confidence, and community.

The event, held at the Intercontinental Golf Resort & Spa Fiji and co-sponsored by Rise Beyond the Reef, Dilo-Up Skincare, and Salted Swimwear, welcomed participants of all skill levels.

Fiji Surfing President, Hannah Bennett, highlighted the clinic’s broader goal of fostering confidence, building strong female role models.

She expressed her delight with the strong turnout and shared her hopes to see more women and girls joining future clinics.

“This event has always been about more than just surfing. It’s about building confidence, creating strong female role models, and nurturing those special relationships between mothers and daughters. And what better place to do that than right here at Natadola,” said Bennett.

“The spirit of this clinic aligns with similar initiatives such as the World Surf League events and other community driven programs emphasizing women’s leadership and youth involvement in sports.

“Such efforts continue to underscore the commitment to creating inclusive environments where women and young girls can thrive, both in sports and in broader social contexts.”She adds events like these not only highlight the dynamic surf culture in Fiji but also reinforce the country’s dedication to promoting community and empowerment through sports.

Bennett expressed her delight at the strong turnout and shared her hope of seeing even more women and girls join future clinics.
