NATABUA High School stamped its authority at the 2026 Coca-Cola Lautoka Zone athletics competition, winning both the girls’ and boys’ divisions at Churchill Park yesterday.

The school delivered an outstanding performance in the girls division, collecting 19 gold, five silver and six bronze medals. Jasper Williams High School settled for second place with 16 gold, 26 silver and nine bronze, while Ba Provincial Freebird Institute finished third with four gold, four silver and seven bronze medals.

Natabua continued its dominance in the boys’ division, amassing 33 gold, 13 silver and seven bronze medals. Central College Lautoka came in second with five gold, 11 silver and six bronze, while Ba Provincial Freebird Institute finished third with four gold, nine silver and 10 bronze medals.

Natabua school principal Virendra Sharma praised the efforts of his athletes, acknowledging the collective support behind their success.

“It is a very wonderful feeling. We have done it again for the second successive year. It all boils down to hard work and consistency from our teachers, students, parents and old scholars,” Sharma said.

He said the message to the athletes leading up to the competition was simple — to make themselves, their families and the school proud.

“They were also reminded to respect the holiness of Easter Week and to give their very best, both in performance and discipline,” he added.

The focus will now turn to the Coca-Cola Games at the HFC Banks Stadium on April 30 to May 2.
