FIJI 7s player Joji Nasova will join the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua next year, after signing a two-year deal with the club.
The Toge, Ba native joins the club after a stellar season with the Fiji Airways Fiji men’s 7s team in the HSBC SVNS World Series, where he finished the 2024/2025 HSBC SVNS Series as its top try-scorer with 26 tries, shared with Marcos Moneta of Argentina.
In a statement released by the Fijian Drua, he was enthusiastic about joining the club and was optimistic of what the new Super Rugby Pacific season would offer.
“I am very excited to be selected to be part of the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua team ahead of next year’s competition and I hope next season will be a good one,” Nasova stated.
Fijian Drua head coach Glen Jackson stated the club was “massively excited” to welcome Nasova into the club.
“We are all massively excited that such a huge name from the World Sevens Series is joining us,” Jackson said.
“We are eager to see Joji transform his skills into the 15s game. He’s already a household name in Fiji Rugby and we thank Osea Kolinisau for the partnership that exists between the Drua and the Fijian 7s programme.”
For Nasova, making the move from 7s to 15s will mean the end of this stint in the abbreviated version of rugby union, after he was selected in the 2025 HSBC SVNS Men’s Dream Team.
He made his debut for the Fiji 7s team in the 2023/2024 season of the world series at the Hong Kong 7s.
The 24-year-old was also part of the national 7s team that won gold at the 2023 Pacific Games at Honiara in the Solomon Islands.
He is also the older brother of Fiji 7s player Iliavi Masori.
