NASINU FC is heading into the 2026 BiC Fiji FACT with renewed confidence, focused preparations, and a strong desire to win its first title.

The district, known as the “Giant Killers” for its ability to challenge and upset Fiji’s top football teams, has been preparing steadily under head coach Abunesh Kapoor as they fine-tune their systems ahead of the tournament in Labasa.

The squad is expected to rely on a balanced mix of youth and its experience as it prepares to compete in one of Fiji football’s most competitive tournaments.

Nasinu FC president Jagindar Singh said qualification for the tournament is already a significant achievement for the district, given the challenges faced throughout the season.

“It’s a proud moment for Nasinu football,” Singh said.

“Our players have worked extremely hard throughout the season despite the challenges we continue to face as a smaller association.”

Nasinu has never won the prestigious tournament, with its closest attempt coming in 2002 when it reached the final before losing in a penalty shootout against Lautoka.

“Nasinu has never won the Fiji FACT, so the motivation is there for the players to give everything for the district,” he said.

“It would be very special if we could achieve something memorable.”

He also acknowledged the financial challenges facing the association, noting that additional support would significantly boost preparations, but maintained that the team’s unity and belief remain its greatest strength.

“We may not have the biggest budget, but we have the heart, unity, and belief,” Singh said.

Nasinu has been drawn in Group B and will open its campaign against Lautoka before facing Nadroga and Ba in consecutive matches on June 19 at Subrail Park in Labasa.
