The Nasinu Netball Association tournament had a successful start with a significant turnout of teams converging at the Multipurpose Courts in Laucala yesterday.

Tournament manager Courtney Bitu, said the tournament is set to span over 10 weeks, without any knockout matches on first day, but diving straight into the first pool games.

“The teams participating include a mix of Primary School teams, the BuliKula secondary school grades for development, open women’s teams comprising premier and senior grades, as well as a men’s grade,” said Bitu.

“The turnout exceeded our expectations, with teams showing up in full force, it’s truly heartening to see the girls stepping up and showcasing their talents on the netball court.

“I’m also delighted to see school students participating, taking advantage of the holiday break to come and enjoy the games.

“Have to keep an eye on the Southern Sisters team from Kadavu, as they made a mark last year by challenging the defending champions, the Police team.

“Their determination and spirit are truly commendable; I urge former players of the Nasinu Netball Association to come out in numbers and rally behind the girls in this competition.”
