Nasinu defends Futsal title with win over Navua

NASINU team has successfully defended the 2025 Extra Beach Soccer League Trophy, clinching a 5-3 victory over Navua in the final match that took place at the Fiji Sports Council Beach Soccer Pitch in Laucala Bay, Suva.

The standout performer for Nasinu was Ranit Maharaj, who showcased his exceptional skills by scoring a hat-trick during the intense final.

The first half saw both teams locked in a tight battle, with Nasinu managing to hold a slim 3-2 lead.

In the second half, Navua’s defense struggled to contain Nasinu’s attacking prowess, allowing them clear opportunities to find the back of the net and ultimately secure a 5-3 win.

Jagindar Singh, the team president, praised the players for their unwavering commitment and effort displayed throughout the competition.

He expressed gratitude towards the team for maintaining an undefeated record and acknowledged their wealth of experience and talent.

“The boys gave their all in this match, we were undefeated throughout the competition, I thank the boys for their hard work getting the win in the final,” said Singh.

Singh also highlighted the outstanding performance of Emmanuel Mathew Etim from Nigeria, recognising him as a key player who consistently delivered in every game.

“Our players are experienced players they have been playing for a long time, Im also proud of Emmanuel Mathew Etim his from Nigeria, he has been a key player for our side, he scores in every game he plays, so hats off to him.”

Despite facing pressure in the first half, Singh motivated the team to find their stride and work cohesively as a unit in the second half, which ultimately led to their well-deserved victory.

Singh extended his appreciation to the team’s sponsors, supporters, and families for their continuous support and belief in Nasinu’s capabilities from the very beginning.
