“We always respect our naita from Nadroga.”

These were the words of Naitasiri Rugby senior men’s team manager Penaia Naqase for their round three double header contest in the Inkk Farebrother/Skipper Cup competition today.

“We always respect our naita from Nadroga and we will try out best to give them a good game this Saturday (today),” Naqase shared yesterday.

“We are preparing for Nadroga, it will be a very tough game for us but time will tell after the game on Saturday.”

Today’s challenge in Nausori is slated to be an intense one, as the defending champions of the Farebrother Trophy, Naitasiri meet the defending champions of the Skipper Cup.

With the aim of a definitive win driving the men in black and red stripes, Naqase said the team had gone over what they had done in previous clashes against Malolo and Tailevu.

“Our preparation this week, we go through the two games that we already passed between Malolo and last week with Tailevu,” he added.

“We probably improved from what we left on there and we’ll try our very best.”

He said the team had made changes to its starting line-up, one of which includes the absence of Motikiai Murray due to national duties with the FIJI Water Flying Fijians for the Pacific Nations Cup.

For today’s game, the side has ensured to improve on their defence and maintain their level of discipline on the field.

Naqase extended a call for their supporters to turn up in numbers and back the team in the match.

Naitasiri lost to Tailevu in round two last week 22-27 and won against Malolo in round one 39-13.

Nadroga beat Vatukoula 17-16 last week and Macuata 39-18.

Today’s match kicks off at 3pm.
