Naitasiri Rugby Union is setting goals for 2025, with a focus on developing local club talent to represent the senior team.

The union kicked off its first round of club games at Ratu Cakobau Park ground two in Nausori, showcasing the talent and potential of players within the club.

“This is our round one of club games, we have finished two competitions of our 10s tournament, it was successful, our coaches have we have seen few talented players, will be looking closely at players to represent Naitasiri Rugby team,” said Talacolo.

With a total of 10 teams participating in the first round of competition, the Naitasiri Rugby Union is optimistic about the growth and success of the club games.

“For this first round of competition, we have a total of 10 teams that is part of it, we are expecting more teams to come in the following week to be part of the club games.

“As it is required to have club games, by Fiji Rugby Union we have 10 teams so far and hoping to get more and run the program better.”

The ultimate goal of the club games is to groom top players for the Naitasiri senior team and upcoming tournaments like the Skipper Cup.

“In the years our club games were not as effective as we use to get players from other places to play for the team.

“This year our aim is to get the players that are playing in the club competition to represent their village and the Naitasiri senior team for the year 2025.”

Talanacolo expressed gratitude to the participating teams and emphasised the union’s commitment to nurturing local talent.
