MINDSET, attitude and discipline are key factors for Naitasiri rugby as they prepare to take on Lautoka in the third Inkk Farebrother Sullivan Trophy Challenge tomorrow.
Naitasiri is the second team to challenge for the prestigious trophy against Lautoka and it is gunning for nothing less than a win.
The side has been blessed with ample training time while also watching how the Maroons toppled Nadi and Suva in the past two weeks.
“We have prepared well for this challenge to the very best of our ability,” head coach Dr Ilaitia Tuisese stated.
The two teams last met in round five of the Skipper Cup where two second half penalties saw Naitasiri secure a 13-8 win at a muddy Churchill Park ground three. In that match, Lautoka led 8-7 at halftime.
“It’s a known fact that we all prepare to win, no team wants to lose an important match as this one, and I believe this game will go down right to the final 80th minute to decide the winner,” added Tuisese.
Tuisese and his men have been camping for this vital match and use Navuso ground as a training field to sharpen their skills.
“My job is to get their mindset in the right space, tune them well to be ready for the challenge, get their confidence level up as it would be down to whichever team makes the most out of the opportunities presented to them,” the head coach stated.
The Highlanders know the match will not be a walk in the park and they are expecting a determined Maroons outfit.
They meet on at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
Kick-off is at 3pm.
