“WE have prepared well, we do not underestimate Tailevu-we know that they are a quality side, but we will prove ourselves on the field today.”
Says a fired-up Naitasiri captain Jone Naqairi for their much-anticipated Skipper Cup semifinal clash against Tailevu today.
With so much talk around their round two 22-27 loss, he said it will be different today as a place in the finals will be at stake.
“Tomorrow (today) will be different. We respect them, and we’ve progressed from that loss. We are ready and we will prove it on the field,” he said.
A few changes have been made in the final team with a few key players missing out due to injuries, but confidence is high and the players raring and ready to go for today’s decider.
“There will be a few changes in our forwards after the injuries from last week, but the team has gelled well during training, and we are ready for the game,” Naqiri said.
There will be a lot at stake for Naitasiri in today’s match as the current Farebrother Trophy champions have also set their sights on the prestigious Skipper Cup.
The match kicks off at 3pm at the HFC Bank Stadium.
Meanwhile, the first semi-final will see Nadi playing Malolo at 1pm, at the same venue.
