In a powerful display of skill and unity, the Naitasiri team once again showed their dominance on the field by defeating Macuata with a score of 32-22 in the quarter-final clash of the Skipper Cup competition at Ratu Cakobau Park yesterday.

Team captain Asiveli Rokoua shared the team’s main aim for the year – clinching both the Farebrother Challenge, which they successfully accomplished, and the Skipper Cup.

The match proved to be an intense battle marked by big tackles and Naitasiri’s impressive performance as clear crowd favourites, holding a commanding lead of 22-10 at halftime.

Naitasiri emerged victorious, showcasing their dominance on the field in the second half with full time score 32-22.

Rokoua commended the resilience and spirit of the Macuata side, while expressing his immense pride in the commitment and performance of his team.

“The second half was a battle with both teams giving their all on the field, there was a bit of a scuffle at the end, but in the end, we came out on top and both teams showed respect for each other like brothers,” said Rokoua.

“It was a tough game, but I believed in the boys and was proud of our effort. Now, we have the semi-finals to prepare for, which will be a whole new challenge.

“We will go back and work on our weaknesses, game plans, and defence to get ready for the next match.

“We appreciate the support of our fans, whose cheers and encouragement motivated us to keep going until the end.”
