SEMESA Naiseruvati led his team to win the Mixed Social Bowls competition yesterday.
With four wins from four rounds of competition, his team finished the skins format competition with 22 points at the Suva Bowling Centre.
Mereani Ralovo, Jane Powell and Lomax Naua were the other members in his team.
Pene Kafoa’s team was second in the competition with 20 points while Wise Baker’s team finished third with 19 points.
Ilisoni Vakatalai’s team was fourth with 18 points; Sai Tokalau’s team had 10 points while Sai Walker’s team finished the competition with seven points.
Club manager Sanjeevan Nair said the competition was a mixed mufti social event.
Meanwhile, brothers John and Jovesa O’Connor, aged 12 and 10 years respectively, were the youngest competitors in the competition.
Their team was led by parents Ben and Makarita O’Connor.
“It was a good way for this family to have some bonding time outside of home and it was interaction on a whole new level for them,” Nair said.
“Bowls is a really good, non-contact sport that families can come and enjoy down here at the club on weekends or whenever they have free time.
“It would be a good way for them to have some fun as a family in sports.”
