Vodafone Fiji Bati captain Kevin Naiqama believes the young players will win the Rugby League World Cup one day.

Naiqama, who played his third RLWC last week in England, made his international debut for Fiji in 2009.

“I feel these boys are the ones who will bring the cup home,” the 33-year-old said.

“I know for the boys and myself, it’s always a privilege to represent our country and our people and us coming back here, we’ve seen people thanking us for our efforts and making you all proud is a wonderful achievement,” he said.

“We set out to achieve the greatest result. When we started this campaign, we were prepared to play with passion and pride and with these boys, I believe in them.

“For me, this is my third world cup and I enjoyed it seeing these young boys stepping up and playing big superstars in the NRL.

“They have made their families and Fiji proud.”

He spoke highly of the pioneers and how their sacrifices paved the way for the sport to where it is now.

“Hearing the amazing stories of courage and sacrifice that you made, I am glad to see that flourish of what’s been happening and the growth of rugby league in this nation.”

He thanked everyone who supported them all the way during their world cup campaign.

Naiqama was part of the Fiji rugby league anniversary dinner in Suva on Wednesday.
