NAILAGA spearheaded by Fiji under-20 rep Saula Waqa kick started their 2015 Ba Football Association local league competition campaign on a high note after downing Race Course 3-1 at Govind Park yesterday.
Waqa, who represented the nation side at the FIFA U20 World Cup in New Zealand this year, was one of the goal scorers for his side.
Race Course which featured another Fiji U20 rep Junior Narendra Rao, proved to be worthy opponents for the 2014 runner-up.
In the opening match, defending champions Four R Electrical was held scoreless by Young Brothers.
Ba Football secretary Iliyaz Khan said the local league competition would be held every week, until the start of the new Fiji Football Association season.
He said 12 clubs had registered for the competition.
Pool A includes Four R Electrical, Young Brothers, Wailailai Sonic, Veisaru, Itatoko Police and Tauvegavega Youth. Pool B has Nailaga, Race Course, Veisaru, Rovers, Tauvegavega and Varavu United.
