VODAFONE Fiji 7s trio Savenaca Rawaca, Apisai Domolailai and Apisalome Waqatabu have been included in the BLK Nadroga side to defend the HFC Bank Farebrother Sullivan trophy from traditional rugby rival Jack’s of Fiji Nadi at Lawaqa Park this afternoon.
Speed merchant Waqatabu and hard-hitting outside centre Rawaca have forced their way into the starting line-up while livewire flanker Domolailai will be used as an impact player.
The inclusion of the trio will definitely lift the morale of the Stallions in their last game of the season.
Nadroga head coach Esala Nauga has named a power-pack team to carry the hopes of Nadroga in its last defence.
Former Flying Fijian rep Setefano Samoca will form the front row with Naitasiri hooker Seremaia Naureure and Ratu Penijamini Makutu.
Other big names include former national 7s reps Ulaiasi Lawavou, Sailosi Rabonaqica, Eremasi Radrodro, Emosi Vucago, Jiuta Lutumailagi, Etonia Naba and Mitieli Nacagilevu.
Former Flying Fijians prop Peni Volavola said the inclusion of the Fiji 7s team would strengthen Nadroga’s campaign against his former team.
He said the Stallions have been impressive in their last games and would want to continue their unbeaten run this season.
“The inclusion of the three Fiji 7s boys will strengthen Nadroga’s campaign,” said Volavola.
“Nadroga has also named a strong forward pack for the game knowing Nadi will also come out strong.”
Meanwhile, Nadi has named a new-look team to battle against the Stallions.
Interestingly the jetsetters have excluded national 7s players Semi Kunatani and Vatemo Ravouvou from their line-up.
Former Flying Fijians flanker Kelepi Ketedromo along with skipper Vatili Saqiwa will spearhead Nadi in this do-or-die rugby battle. The game kicks off at 3pm.
