Nadroga Rugby Union will have a new president next month after the union holds its annual general meeting on March 25 in Sigatoka.

Sitting president and former Nadroga and national rep Jiko Matawalu’s term expired last December.

“It will not be renewed because he has served for two terms,” NRU spokesperson Talica Dakia said.

“It will be hard to replace the caliber of a person that he is and we wish him well in his endeavour. Our constitution states that a president can only serve for two terms.

“We are calling on the supporters of the union and all club representatives to be part of this annual general meeting. It will be an important meeting where we choose the right leader to take us forward in the next four years.

“Your decision will decide the way forward for us, so we are inviting everyone.”
