Nadroga leads

The BLK Nadroga rugby team now leads the Skipper Cup points table after the sixth round of the competition last weekend after it beat Yasawa 33-13.

The Stallions now lead with 21 points followed by Farebrother- Sullivan Trophy holders Namosi with 21 via points difference.

Namosi dropped to second place because they lost to Nadi 29-12 last weekend, but Nadroga scored a bonus win against Yasawa to move them to the top of the table.

Suva drops to third place from second place in the previous round.

The Capital City side lost to Lautoka 11-7 last Saturday and it is placed third with 19 points.

Naitasiri remains at fourth position with 18 points after a hard fought battle against Tailevu 16-6 at Ratu Cakobau Park.

Lautoka remains at fifth place with 13 points, Nadi has 10 points and is at sixth place while Tailevu has seven points and remains at seventh place.

Yasawa has six points and at tail end of the tally. In the second round of the Vodafone Vanua Championship, Nasinu edged Northern Bulls 19-17 while Northland beat Rewa 30-21.

Ba edged Navosa 30-25 in Ba, Tavua thrashed Ra 37-3, Nanukuloa edged Vatukoula 17-13, Cakaudrove beat Bua 15-13 and Ovalau defeated Macuata 11-5.

Meanwhile, in this weekend’s Skipper Cup fixtures, Lautoka will host Nadroga and Yasawa is scheduled to host Naitasiri.

Tailevu will face Nadi at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori while Suva is billed to host Namosi at the ANZ Stadium at Laucala Bay.
