A WHOLE-HEARTED commitment by the Nadi Muslim Futsal under-15 team has propelled them to deliver their best at the FMF Muslim Futsal IDC tournament, now in its final day.

The team is made up of young students from Muslim schools in the Nadi area and team official Mohammed Ifraaz shared the team prepared for the national meet over the last two weeks.

Facing challenges such as examinations being held in the same time period, the team took it in stride and prepared accordingly.

They trained every afternoon at the futsal court at the Nadi Muslim College.

“I think the boys have given 100 per cent of their commitment, they came (to training) everyday,” Ifraaz said.

“For our boys, after the exams in the afternoon, they were doing their training and I think it turned out well.”

He likened their recent results to the ripening of fruit, as seen in their first two matches where they beat Meigunyah 2-1 and Valelevu 1-0.

While they have already qualified for the elimination rounds, they play Nasinu in their final pool match today.

Ifraaz said this was the team’s first time in the competition and spirits were high within camp.

“I think this was the first time, and the boys love it. I think they came here to prove something, so we’ll see how it goes,” he said.

With the competition wrapping up today at the Fiji FA Futsal Court in Vatuwaqa, Suva, he acknowledged the support of parents and guardians of the players for giving their consent to allow their children to play, fellow team officials and their sponsor Sadhai Autos Fiji Limited.
