Nadi picks best for Northland

JACK’S Nadi has named power-pack team to face Northland in this afternoon’s Skipper Cup encounter scheduled at Gateward Park in Korovou.

Warhorse and former Flying Fijians flanker Kelepi Ketedromo is one of the big names being selected to help the Jetsetters in their quest to maintain their unbeaten run.

Tireless prop Rover Delai will lead the side and to be assisted by craft halfback Jock Liuta. Other big names in the side are open side flanker Meli Rokoua, fly half Aseri Vatuinaruku, Jerry Speight while big boot Kavekini Varo will start from the bench.

Team president Sekove Tuilakeba says the side is raring to face Northland on their home turf.

“Nadi is ready and we will do our best to fulfil our short term goal of securing a spot in the Top 8,” he said.

“A win against Northland will put us in the right path and the boys know the expectations required of them.

“Northland will have the advantage of playing on their home soil but this will not prevent the boys from giving their best.

“We respect Northland and we expect a tough game as they will be also want a win for their home fans.”

Tuilakeba said the side has made a lot of changes from the side that defeated Tavua last week.

He said the team would also miss the services of utility backline Cyrill Reece and inside centre Frederick Hickes who are touring with the Fiji Warriors in South America.

“We will miss the services of these boys but it will not affect our performance as there are abundance of talented players in the side.”
