THE Dee Cees Nadera Panthers is cofident of winning the Top Eight title this year in the Vodafone Cup competition.
In a close battle, the side defeated Burenitu Cowboys 22-21 on Friday night at the ANZ Stadium in Suva.
The side last won the title in 2011 and is hoping to repeat the same feat this year.
Coach Vula Dakuitoga is confident of their chances this year.
“The season was not a good one for us but the boys pulled up their socks and performed above expectation,” he said.
“The road to the top is not going to be easy. We have been on the top before and we know what we have to do in order to get back on top.
“We are confident of winning the title this year.”
The side reigned supreme in the domestic competition after having won from 1993 to 1998 and remained champs from 2003 to 2008 as well.
